Raptor Calendar 2013

on 2nd February 2013

Note:
“Recently the Thai Raptor Group produced a magnificent calendar on raptors (birds of prey). Chaiyan (Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology, Kasetsart University, Thailand) was kind enough to make a digital version of the 2013 Calendar available for download: HERE.

“…I decided to do a similar calender… The calendar attached is obviously inspired by the great work of the Thai Raptor group. It is often said said that ‘imitation is the best/sincerest form of flattery’ and so I hope to imitate them as best I can. Mine is a small attempt to share these magnificent creatures that inspire us and hopefully bring some joy to others.”

  1. Dr Amar, your Raptor calendar is inspiring and impressive. Fantastic effort. Your calendar also triggered a thot. In the US, they have the prestigious annual Duck Stamp competition where bird artists submit their best duck paintings. The best ones are made into stamps.

Perhaps someone could organize a yearly event for our region where submissions of best raptors photos are selected by a panel of judges. The top 12 images will be selected for the annual bird calendar. The calendar could be sold to raise funds for a worthy cause.
