“Recently the Thai Raptor Group produced a magnificent calendar on raptors (birds of prey). Chaiyan (Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology, Kasetsart University, Thailand) was kind enough to make a digital version of the 2013 Calendar available for download: HERE.

“…I decided to do a similar calender… The calendar attached is obviously inspired by the great work of the Thai Raptor group. It is often said said that ‘imitation is the best/sincerest form of flattery’ and so I hope to imitate them as best I can. Mine is a small attempt to share these magnificent creatures that inspire us and hopefully bring some joy to others.”

      Morning Amar,

This is LOVELY! Thanks for sharing.

    2. Thong Chow Ngian says:

Dr Amar, your Raptor calendar is inspiring and impressive. Fantastic effort. Your calendar also triggered a thot. In the US, they have the prestigious annual Duck Stamp competition where bird artists submit their best duck paintings. The best ones are made into stamps.

Perhaps someone could organize a yearly event for our region where submissions of best raptors photos are selected by a panel of judges. The top 12 images will be selected for the annual bird calendar. The calendar could be sold to raise funds for a worthy cause.

    3. Thanks Daisy & Thong for appreciating.
Yes Thong a good idea & we could support children/adults in need.
